This is a film shot converted to digital. Through the magic of telephoto, the wire mesh in front of these guys has been made invisible. This photo is probably a month old.

When I stopped by this week, I discovered I hadn't put the battery in the camera. The little wretches obviously knew it too. They re-enacted the entire Circle of Life musical production from the Lion King complete with the fourth verse that's only in the director's cut. It was in an obscure Tibetan dialect instead of the original Swahili, but it was still amazing.

So lovely!
Give them my best wishes (in Tibetan, natch)

You know that their visible fence could easily be Photoshopped away too, yes? Especially with matching light snow photos from the same day/period/area...

You'll laugh, but I do about 90% of my photo editing with Picasa's Fill Light control. I've little in the way of graphic skills, and I'm not motivated enough to climb that learning curve most of the time. I did once use Photoshop to remove some inconvenient tiny people from a photo where perspective made my wife look taller than a lighthouse. For a photo with sufficient potential, I might do it again.

I sort of live and breathe in Photoshop, so I'm always shocked to hear that there are people who use other "lesser" programs. The thing about Photoshop is that it's Pandora's amphora. But just because it HAS the kitchen sink, there's no reason to use it for anything other than the 6 commands YOU need to use. ANy good Photoshop guru could show you those 6 commands in half an hour.
The simpler Photoshop Elements program is pretty nice as a gateway drug, er, I mean a consumer-friendly program that will probably do all you need it to.
