Jesus would lose the war on terror
Jan. 3rd, 2006 11:39 pmA former rightie, advisorjim on Daily Kos, has written about a conversation with his dad, who is still a right winger. It contains the phrase "Jesus would lose the war on terror". It's a look at someone who believes both that Republicans are more Christian than Democrats and that we must resort to brutality to win the war on terror.
Here's the story:

It's very interesting to me that he admits that Jesus would lose the war on terror. He appears to be willing to abandon his principles for safety. Would he admit that's what he's doing? I doubt it, but I see no way to reconcile torture of suspected enemies with Christ's teachings.
To win the next few elections and undo the damage done by the current administration, we need ways to convince people like this that they're wrong. How to do it? Follow the "changing minds" tag to see one idea. I'd be glad to hear others.
