I'm back from the big Lotusphere convention and I finally have time to post these.

The lynx was having another photogenic day.

What can I say? I'm fond of siege engines large and small. In a week or two, I should have a slightly larger one to post. Perhaps some day I'll have an estate large enough that I can own and use something a bit larger.

(added 1/30/06) You can get the plans here:

Would you mind pointing Tamidon, who owns a castle-shaped cake pan, at the directions on how to make a posicle trebuchet? I know she really wants to make one so she can use it to fling whipped cream the next time she makes a castle cake!

BTW, very cool!

This was actually the second of two that I made. The first had a spoon in place of the hook. To be specific, the spoon was epoxied to a tab of wood which slotted into the gap on the end of the arm. That gets pegged into place with a bit of toothpick so that it's removable.

These plans aren't 100% complete, but they're pretty good. In particular, the trough isn't explained at all. I winged it. A spoon-based model won't need that though.

Feel free to send her my email if she has further questions.
