Despicable politics
Sep. 25th, 2004 01:27 pmWith an editorial oddly titled "An Un-American Way to Cam(sic)"*, the New York Times weighs in with harsh criticism of the president's campaign tactic of suggesting that terrorists favor Kerry.

The Washington Post had an article yesterday cataloging a number of truly low comments by important Republicans:

Has Bush's McCarthy moment arrived? I want to think so, but if it is, it's happening in slow motion. I'd like to see someone ask him if he does in fact have no shame left. He might not get the reference, but plenty of others would.
There's probably no point to writing to the people who made these fatheaded comments, but there's plenty of reason to write letters to the editor. This will help to highlight the fact the readers notice and dislike this tactic. It is way beyond "politics as usual".
*I'm assuming the word they meant to have in the title was "Campaign", but "Cam" is what's on the site as of 1:34PM EST.
