After a badly-run Kerry rally four years ago, I swore I'd never do that again, but yesterday I volunteered at the Obama rally yesterday in Manchester NH. I'm glad I did. The event was very well run.

I was working just ahead of the security station. It was my job to explain what could and could not be brought into the rally site. The crowd was, in general, in good spirits and understood the need for security precautions. Only one or two turned grumpy, and the lines moved quickly. People were spending 30-45 minutes in line before getting in. Not bad for getting what was later estimates to be a crowd of 7500 people through security stations.

The outside volunteers got into the event in time to hear about 2/3 of the speech which is available here.

I did manage to get a few pictures (and used my 10X zoom to good effect)

In this one you can see someone on the stage signing the speech

Here's one from the rope line afterward.

Will do.

I'm thinking NH is a good place to volunteer. It's not a long drive, and it's a key state.

Also, I've got a contact in Nashua for inside info.
