My photos at SIGGRAPH???
Jul. 26th, 2010 01:27 pmThis is a good news/bad new post. The good news is that I've learned that some of my photos, in the form of a Gigapan panorama, will be shown at a talk at SIGGRAPH, the ACM's computer graphics conference. The bad new? They're showing it as an example of how a badly vignetted panorama can be corrected (with snazzy new Gigapan stitching software).
How to frame this for best ego absorption? How about, "Even my mistakes are worthy of SIGGRAPH"? Yes, I think I'll run with that one.
FWIW, the panorama in question was done mainly as a test of my (then) new camera. I wasn't really trying for any particular effects.
