Olbermann channels Lewis Black
May. 14th, 2008 10:46 pmKeith Olbermann does one of his special comments on the latest Bush idiocy. He's often forceful during these segments, but this time he seems close to total outrage. I don't blame him one bit.
Bush gave an interview packed with stupidity, but the following really stands out. It seems that Bush gave up golf a while back out of sympathy for families who had suffered losses during the war. It will probably come as a shock to millions of golfers to learn that playing golf is disrespectful in time of war. Our president has display an unsuspected degree of tact in not bludgeoning golf-playing Democrats with this novel "fact".
But Bush can't even get a symbolic gesture right. He didn't give up golf when he says he did. There are photos of him playing golf almost two months later than that. Also, he had to give up running about the same time due to a knee problem. That's, um, quite a sacrifice.
I haven't found a transcript of this yet, but you can watch the video here:

It's 12 minutes long and worth watching the whole thing.
