People are already wondering why they waited so long to let the word out. People are already saying that Cheney's account isn't credible and appears to blame the victim. The majority of gun owners take appropriate precautions with their guns and don't have accidents. Will the hard-core NRA crowd begin to see Cheney as irresponsible due to this shooting? After all, they're the ones best able to see any gaps in his story. Will the average person wonder why Cheney feels the need to shoot a few dozen farmed birds in a day? The average day of real hunting doesn't involve nearly so much shooting.
