When George Galloway verbally roasted a congressional committee, I cheered. When he called, Christopher Hitchens, a talking head who favored the war, a "drink-sodden ex-Trotskyist popinjay", I was amused. I didn't know anything about Galloway except that he was an MP with a Scottish accent.

The following article is what Christopher Hitchens has to say about Galloway's history. If true, Galloway's quite the opportunist. He was apparently expelled by the British Labour party for calling for "jihad" against British troops. His charity has some complications that I didn't hear mentioned at the hearing either.

Of course, the Weekly Standard is a conservative publication. I'll be interested to see if Galloway replies.
