When it's fun to be telemarketed!

Last election cycle I gave money to the DCCC and other "establishment" Democratic groups. I naively thought getting Democrats elected would be enough. I've been tremendously disappointed by the inability of the congressional Democrats to follow through on issues I care about. They still call though and tell me that all we need is a bigger Democratic majority for things to change.

Some might chose to hang up at this point. I've been tempted, but instead, I tell them we need braver Democrats who are willing fight for the rule of law and for our civil rights. I tell them I'm supporting progressive Democratic candidates through groups like these. If they seem inclined to argue, I get detailed. And I make sure to tell them that organizations like the following are getting my money.

So am I just wasting the time of some poor working stiff, or does my message have a chance of reaching someone who can act on it?

I'm hoping I can help the invisible hand of the market give the Democratic party leadership a great big dope slap.
