Who could have predicted?

that covert interference in the affairs of a foreign people could result in unintended consequences? The Middle East is so stable after all. What are the odds that interfering in favor of Fatah would tip the balance to Hamas? Looks like another impressive foul-up for the Bush team.

Wait, wait, you mean other countries and cultures don't like it when the USA dictates what's best for them? Who'd have thunk it? I mean, with the smashing success of colonial Brittan as a historical example, you can't blame us for not noticing it earlier.
