17th century French hurdy-gurdy
You know you're in the Harvard Square T station when ...
the musician is playing a replica of a 17th century French hurdy-gurdy. It's a bit like a large 6 string violin, but with a crank and keys to finger.

this guy has been making the rounds for about a year. I've seen him in Davis and downtown near Fanuel Hall/State Street station.
The instrument is nifty-looking but the "tunes" grate after a very short while.
